Volunteers
Benefitting MRC Industries, Inc.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of events for the days leading up to the Klassic races, the Kids' Klassic, and the Klassic event.  As a volunteer for the Kalamazoo Klassic you will receive a volunteer shirt as well as the official race t-shirt that the runners receive. 
How To Volunteer

1.   Download the Volunteer Registration form using one of the links
      below.  Print clearly or type all requested information.
2.   Use only one name per form.  This form may be photocopied.
3.   Refer to "Volunteer Assignments" to select a position.  Check-in
      times are noted on the Registration Form.  You must be available
      for the entire duration of the assignment.  Volunteers running in the
      event will need to ensure they can complete their assignment prior
      to getting to the start line.
4.   You may sign up for more than one volunteer assignment.  If
      volunteering for more than one assignment on Race Day, read the
      duties carefully to be sure you are able to complete the first
      assignment before starting the next.
5.   If you wish to work with another group of volunteers, identify your
      partner(s) on the form and mail in the forms together.  Every effort
      will be made to keep you together.

REMINDER: Each volunteer must complete a registration form.

6.   Sign and date your Volunteer Registration Form, and mail ASAP
      to ensure your assignment choice.  Volunteer forms must be
      received by May 25th, 2008.
7.   A volunteer captain will provide details regarding your assignment
      the day of your volunteer assignment.
8.   All volunteer captains are required to attend a race prep walk
      through in May or June (dates TBD).  You will be contacted with
      more details prior to these dates. 
9.   Information and materials provided to you about the Kalamazoo
      Klassic are strictly confidential.

Volunteer Assignments

Pre Race Support
     -   Race bag stuffing
     -   Food prep
     -   PR: post race posters in neighborhood areas and storefronts
     -   Pick-up/Delivery

Kids' Klassic
     -   Water and food prep and service
     -   Registration assistance
     -   Q & A support

Pre Race Day Support
     -   Registration assistance:  hand out race bags, race chips, and
         t-shirts
     -   Trouble desk:  assist people with questions or issues with
         registration
     -   Fold and sort t-shirts
     -   Assistant:  assist Race Director with various tasks between
         registration, YMCA, Kids' Klassic, etc.
     -   Expo set-up:  set up trash bins, tables and chairs, tablecloths,
         booth assignments,  signs
     -   Hang up signs and banners  

Race Day
     -   Registration assistance:  hand out race bags, race chips, and
         t-shirts
     -   Tear-down and clean-up
     -   Trouble desk:  assist people with questions or issues
     -   Water/aid station
     -   Awards assistance:  record participant information
     -   Food service:  ensure racers have food and water available after
         the race
     -   Other various tasks associated with Race Day
